Wednesday 13 Kansas City Concert reviews
Very good show.
I have been a fan of Wednesday 13 since his teen years and have watched Derek from the Soul Stew Revival days. Immediately I noticed a new bass player with no Kofi. The band was not as tight or improvisational as usual. As I later read, Kofi is recovering and Tim had left, leaving the new players with only a few weeks to prepare. This was a good show, although it was more mellow due to the Friday setlist lacking uptempo tunes. I personally enjoy the faster songs but the live version of Don’t Think Twice was the best I've ever heard, and Joe Tex’s Show Me was incredible. It took a 3 1/2 hour drive to get there and back home. I just wish the new players had more experience before my show. They are the best live band out there, maybe only second to Mule, so I am confident the next show will be great. Over the years, I have seen many great shows.
